Free cutting optimizer for sheets, bars and shapes.

Cutting a wardrobe, a kitchen or a set of shelves? Add your boards and your parts, press Optimize, and get the cutting layouts, how many boards to buy and the offcuts worth keeping — with a PDF to take to the saw. It runs in your browser: nothing you enter leaves your computer.

What it plans

Five kinds of cutting and packing

Sheets on a panel saw

Boards cut edge to edge with straight saw cuts, the saw kerf taken off every cut. Starts with a 2440 × 1220 board and a 4 mm blade.

CNC nesting

Rectangular parts placed anywhere on the sheet, for routers and other machines that don't need through cuts.

Bars and profiles

Lengths cut from 6 m bars: aluminium, steel tube, timber or skirting, with the length left on every bar.

Irregular shapes

Draw a part — L, T, U, circle or any outline with curved edges — and nest it on the sheet. An L-shaped remnant can be the sheet too.

Boxes in containers

Cartons loaded into a 20 ft container or onto a pallet, with or without stacking.

How it works

From parts to a cutting plan in four steps

  1. 1

    Add your sheets

Give each board a name and a size — for example a white melamine board and a black MDF board.

  2. 2

    Add your parts

Length, width, quantity, and which board each part is cut from. Tick Grain where the part must not turn.

  3. 3

    Press Optimize

Small jobs come back in seconds. Each material is optimized on its own sheets.

  4. 4

    Download the PDF

Materials used, the parts list, a page for every sheet and the offcuts — ready for the saw or to send to the customer.

What you get

A plan you can cut from.

Built for the people who cut, not for people who compare algorithms: no settings to tune before the first result.

Layouts you can cut from

Every part shows its number, name and size; every sheet its material and size.

Sheets per material

How many white boards and how many black boards the job needs, not one total that mixes them.

Offcuts you can keep

Usable offcuts are drawn and listed with their size and position. Each material keeps its own offcuts.

A PDF report

One file per project, or all your projects at once in a zip.

Your cutlist stays on your computer

The optimizer is downloaded once and runs in your browser. The parts you type, the layouts and the PDF are made on your machine; none of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Your projects are kept in the browser you used.

Cutting is your business?

AnyCutlist is built for workshops.

Workshops, cut-and-edge shops, cabinet manufacturers and interior design firms cut for customers every day. Their lists arrive as phone photos, pencil sketches and PDFs, and typing them, checking them and pricing the job takes longer than the cutting plan.

AnyCutlist reads those lists, flags every size and edge it is unsure of for a person to confirm, prices cutting and edging, sends the quote, optimizes the sheets and exports the job to MaxCut, CutList Plus or DXF — for the whole team, from the office to the saw.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no account, no trial and no limit on projects. It is a free tool for fundis, carpenters and hobbyists from the team behind AnyCutlist.

Is my cutting list uploaded?

No. The optimizer runs on your own computer, in the browser. Your projects are saved in that browser only — clear it, or switch computers, and they are not there.

Which units should I use?

Any, as long as every size uses the same one. Most workshops use millimetres.

Can I use my offcuts?

Yes. Add an offcut as another sheet with its size and a quantity of one. For an L-shaped remnant, choose Irregular shapes and draw it.

Does it work on a phone?

It does, but a laptop or desktop is faster and easier: the optimizer uses every core of the processor, and the first start takes a few seconds.

Can it read a handwritten cutlist?

Not the free optimizer: you type the parts in. Reading customers' handwritten, photographed and PDF cutting lists, pricing the job and sending it to MaxCut is what AnyCutlist does, for workshops and firms that quote jobs every day.
