Production control
Keep your cutlist, quote and machine exports on the same revision
A release checklist for changes to dimensions, materials, supply and packaging so workshops do not manufacture from an outdated quote or export.

Changes are not limited to dimensions
A job can become commercially outdated even when every part keeps the same size. Changing from customer-supplied to shop-supplied material, enabling packaging or marking parts as precut can change the billable scope. A material, quantity, grain or operation change can also affect the cutting plan.
Treat the cutlist, quotation and exported production files as related records with a version relationship. A status such as optimized or accepted answers one question about one record; it is not a substitute for checking that all three still describe the same job.
Review the effect before releasing again
When a customer requests a change, save it to the cutlist first and review affected parts. Revisit optimization when the geometry, material or stock assumptions change. Check the quotation for changed quantities, supply responsibility, operations and packaging.
If a quote is flagged as stale, do not treat the warning as a cosmetic badge. Review or refresh it through the supported workflow and obtain acceptance for the updated commercial scope when required. Communicate what changed so the customer and workshop do not work from different assumptions.
Use a short production-release checklist
A newly generated file can replace an old file in the system, but it cannot recall a PDF already printed or a machine file copied to a USB drive. Include the workshop’s offline handoff in your revision process.
- Confirm the current parts, materials and operations have been reviewed.
- Check that the quotation covers the current scope and required acceptance.
- Generate fresh layouts, labels and machine files for that revision.
- Remove superseded copies from the active production handoff.
- Confirm the operator is using the intended job and revision before cutting.
Combine software controls with a clear handoff
In AnyCutlist, organization export settings can limit the formats available to a workshop and configure quote-acceptance gates for supported production exports. Review those settings with your organization administrator so the available outputs match your machines and release process.
Use the job’s history to investigate changes, but do not assume every offline action is captured by a web application. A reliable release process combines current system records with clear responsibility for downloaded files, printed documents and operator confirmation.
